536 windows

16:08 Tue 19th May 2009

I have a 536 circa 1975 and need to replace the windows; however when looking at ordering a new set I've noticed that the description is for 2 front and 2 side windows. My boat has a single front window. will the window from the 536 seasport fit? Or have I miss identified the boat? The serial number fits the range for a 1975 built 536 and it has an enclosed cabin like the 536 but the windows look like the 536 seasport.

Can anyone offer some choice words of wisdom?

Hello
I have a 536 but it looks like a Family 4 Mk1 with single front window and cutout above the door. It does not look like a 536 but plate and serial number say it is.
People refer to a 536 Family 4 and I suspect there was an overlap between models. The side windows look like F4 and not 536.
Perhaps someone at Shetland could clarify this.

Hi David
you are correct with the cross over of the 536 and the Family 4 Mk1.
The boats are you are referring to with a single front window are actually the early models of the Fam 4 MK1.
Why this was done we do not know. Hope this helps clear things up for you.
Thanks

Hi
There should be no problem with you adding a metal keel to this boat.

Thanks
